| Subtilisin | Thermolysin |
Covalently immobilised preparations of thermolysin and subtilisin. Subtilisin (E.C. 3.4.21.62) is a non-specific protease (a protein-digesting enzyme) from Bacillus sp. Thermolysin (EC 3.4.24.27) is a thermostable neutral metalloproteinase enzyme from Geobacillus sp. Thermolysin specifically catalyzes the hydrolysis of peptide bonds containing hydrophobic amino acids. Both enzymes are immobilised on acrylic resin. Particularly useful for hydrolysis or synthesis of peptide bonds, enantioresolution of aminoacids.
